Promoting Your Facebook Page on Facebook

There is a saying that goes around Firebelly, “If you build it, they will not come.” Meaning just because your target audience is on Facebook does not automatically mean they will “like” your Facebook Page let alone engage with you.

One of the best ways to grow your Facebook community is through Facebook advertising. You have two options to choose from: Facebook Sponsored Stories and Facebook Ads. In order to decide which one is best to use you must identify the goal and evaluate the community.

Facebook Sponsored Stories: This is the way to go if your goal is to promote your fans interactions and have a large following. These interactions can range from liking the Page, liking or commenting on a post to a RSVP to an event or checking in to your business. A large community is key because those interactions people are having with your page will be highlighted in the news feed, so it will target friends of fans.

Facebook Ads: This is the way to go if your goal is to build an audience and don’t have a following. Facebook Ads can be customized to your target audience. This includes everything from the image and message/call to action to the demographics and interests of potential fans. In the end you will increase the size of your community with targeted members.
