Facebook made posting to a brand page more convenient last week when it revealed a new scheduling tool. It is a great resource if you don’t use a third party application, such as HootSuite and have to stress about logging on to Facebook at a certain time to post a message.
Scheduling can now be done with ease – simply enter your message in the box, click on the clock icon in the lower left hand corner and enter the date and time information up to 6 months in the future.
The downsides are that it cannot be accessed from a mobile device, (it’s on the way though), if you manage multiple brand pages you have to go to each page individually to schedule, and if the content of a message needs editing it must be deleted and re-created.
It will be interesting to see how this feature develops, but at this point, it doesn’t seem to really rival any third party applications from a community manager standpoint. What are your thoughts on the new Facebook scheduling tool?
