Like any relationship it’s all about give and take, and of course, love. Top fans can help in the development of the community and the conversation overall. They have the potential of policing your community when things go a rye, and can be your biggest word of mouth advocates on and off line.
Top fans want to be heard by the brands they love – it’s that simple. I don’t believe that true top fans join a community to get something. But, if they don’t feel like they are being heard or appreciated, what’s their incentive? To avoid losing them, or worse pissing them off, it’s important to celebrate and recognize them. A brand can celebrate top fans by giving a shout out to a fan of the month, send a gift card to a local coffee shop or a free product or service from the brand itself.
How are you celebrating your top fans? Do you know who your top fans are?
