Duncan Alney is the vision behind Firebelly and a nationally recognized social media provocateur who speaks across the country.

What I do

I’m responsible for the vision and overall direction of the company. My main responsibilities are to help with relationships with key clients, identify and develop relationships with new clients, and work with the team on certain projects. I work individually with our team members on their passion projects (and my passion projects.) I’m a big picture guy who spends a lot of time thinking about community and advocacy – what makes communities come to life and become vibrant places or why some people are so passionate about the brands they love.

I am working on a book that will bring a lot of people I know from diverse backgrounds together to tell a common story. I speak on community development at all types of conferences around the country.

My Background

I grew up in India and came to America to be a cowboy. When I realized that I prefer the verandah of the W Hotel to being on horseback – everything got better! I’ve lived in Bombay, Calcutta, Toronto, London, LA, and Chicago over the years, but I call Indianapolis home. You can find me with family and cats on most days blasting my vintage stereo equipment, reading or cooking.
