Remember your goals
To create successful social media content, you need to focus on what success looks like for you. Is it to grow your audience, gain more engagement, generate leads or maybe drive more traffic to your website?
Your content should reflect whatever your goals are.
Post for your audience
Your brand voice is important but your social media content needs to resonate with the audience you’re looking to target. Be authentic and don’t force anything that might not be a reflection of your brand.
The more you understand your audience and can incorporate their interests in a way that is on brand will help you be successful.
Repurpose successful content
It’s easy for content to get lost in our fast-paced world. Don’t let good social media content go unseen. Create new posts around content you’ve found success with.
Maybe you have a blog post that is still as relevant today as it was when you published it a few months ago. Link back to the blog in a new post.
Share user generated content
What could be better content than your own consumers raving about you on social media? All you have to do is share it! Keep an eye out for content your brand is tagged in for easy sharing or use a listening tool to see when your brand is being talked about.
Remember to use best practices for sharing user generated content. Ask for permission and tag or credit the photographer.
Keep up with trends
Staying up to date on trends can help you create engaging content for your brand. You can actually look at social media content to see what your audience is finding trendy.
For example, Snapchat’s content shows great insight into Generation Z. LinkedIn’s Content Suggestions tool is great for finding relevant content in your industry. Twitter has a Trends For You section that updates in real-time. Use these tools to stay up-to-date and join in on the conversation (when appropriate for your brand).
