1. Respond

This is the easiest way share the love. When social media followers comment on a post, tag you in a photo or share your content with their network…reply! This can be as simple commenting with a thanks or a like.

Just acknowledge that you see what they have done and that you appreciate them for doing it! When someone asks a question, whether private or public, answer them.

This will always leave your audience with a positive brand experience.

2. Share content they enjoy

Here’s a no-brainer: if you share content your audience is interested in, they will be more likely to engage with you.

How do you know what content they enjoy?

This is where analytics comes in, and boy do I love analytics! When you run reports on your audience and your content, you can determine what performs best and create similar content.

With more in-depth audience analysis you can discover what other interests your social media followers have and include those in your content. Your followers will appreciate you for catering to their passions and their love for you will grow!

3. Reward super fans

We all know there are different groups within our audience: people who follow a page and never engage, those that intermittently engage, and super fans that regularly like, comment and share content.

This group is the holy grail of followers, they are acting exactly how we wish all followers would.

As psychology has shown, positive reenforcement works wonders. Sharing and giving credit to their content, contest/giveaways and consumer rewards programs are all ways to give back to your top fans.

4. Two-way communication

Just like in any relationship, people feel valued and loved when the communication goes both ways.

Don’t just talk at your social media followers. Instead of only posting statements and brand news, create content that is engaging.

Develop a dialogue, ask your followers questions and respond to their responses.
