Spring Clean Your Social Media With These 3 Easy Steps

Spring Clean Your Social Media

Spring is in the air and that means it’s time to get organized and refreshed for the year ahead. Your new-found energy to clean shouldn’t only apply to your home and garden, use this time to spring clean your social media. We promise this kind of deep cleaning won’t require a shower afterwards.

1. Freshen up your channels

Take a moment to go through all of your social channels and update the bio and overall look.

Have you recently changed your logos, packaging, branding or have a new product/service to highlight? This is a great time to change out your profile and cover photos with fresh images that give it a facelift.

Sprout Social has you covered with always up-to-date social media image and video specs.

When was the last time you read your about section? Do you even know what it says? Springtime is a great time to update your information. Double check to make sure the information like your website, hours of business and contact information are correct.

Don’t have time to reply to private messages 24/7? Set up away and instant reply messages through Facebook to more efficiently manage private messages.

2. Analyze your audience

audience

You know your target audience, but do you know who your actual followers are?

Running a quick audience analysis can let you know demographics like age, gender, countries and cities of your current followers. Knowing your audience can better inform the type of content you should create to increase engagements.

This can also let you know if you are missing the mark with your advertising targeting.

3. Identify content that brings you & your followers joy

joy

You know I couldn’t do a spring cleaning post without a Marie Kondo reference! Seriously though, why create content that doesn’t bring joy to you or your followers?

Look into your previous posts and discover what were the top performers, specifically which had the highest engagement rates. Continue to find ways to create content like these posts-give the people what they want!

Also, check out your poorly performing posts. What could you have done to these posts to make them more like your posts with greater engagement? Were they on brand?

You can learn just as much from the content that didn’t work as you can from your high achievers!

Use this spring to clean up your social media strategy. You’ll be just as satisfied as when finally cleaning out that junk drawer!
