The Best Time To Post On Facebook May Actually Surprise You

The best time to post on Facebook may actually surprise you. Here are several reports on the subject as well as our own observations and recommendations from years of helping brands manage their Facebook pages.

There are definitely some commonalities here. If you’re new to Facebook or haven’t found your publishing sweet spots yet you may want to start with these days and times or at least incorporate them into your mix.

That being said, if every brand reads these reports and starts publishing at these times, you may have a better chance of reaching your audience on a less competitive day and time—say Monday at 8am.

It really is best to test publishing at different times throughout the day, and different days of the week, to see which times generate the most reach and engagement for your brand.

You may find it really is one of the times listed above or, as we’ve discovered on Firebelly’s Facebook page, it could be something completely different. You won’t know until you try.

Sprout Social’s Optimal Send Times

If you use Sprout Social for publishing, their Optimal Send Times feature helps take some of the guesswork out of finding your publishing sweet spot.

Over time, Sprout learns when your audience is most likely to engage with your content and recommends posting times when your audience is most likely to respond.

We’ve seen our posts receive an average of 20% more engagement using this approach.

Boosting Facebook posts to improve visibility

It’s also important to remember that Facebook’s constant News Feed algorithm updates rarely, if ever, benefit brand visibility.

So if you want to ensure your fans will actually see your content, it’s now more important than ever to spend a little money to boost your posts.

And if you’re boosting posts, you don’t really have to worry about a “best day and time” to publish, because Facebook will deliver your content to your fans on whichever day or time they’re on the network.

Now get out there, get posting, and get the Facebook reach and engagement you deserve!
